About Us

The Woman's Club of Northumberland County (WCNC) was formed in 1935 with 55 women. Our goal was, and continues to be, the social and civic betterment of our communities within Northumberland County and the entire Northern Neck with an emphasis on community service.

The WCNC supports our community with programs and contributions of time, talent, and charitable donations:

• Operation Smile - one smile at a time
• Endowment program at Rappahannock Community College for a woman over 30 starting or returning to college
• Annual Northumberland County High School scholarship to Rappahannock Community College
• Annual scholarship to a graduating senior at the Northern Neck Regional Technical Center
• Gleamers and Blenders, Burgess, VA
• Northumberland Animal Shelter
• The Haven
• Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad
• Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad
• Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad
• Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department
• Callao Volunteer Fire Department
• Northumberland Library

We fund the above campaigns through various methods including a monthly Bridge/Game Day and  Luncheon and rental of the clubhouse building.
